Trackwise Designs Plc is a manufacturer of length unlimited, multi layer flexible printed circuits and are listed on the LSE’s AIM exchange.
Trackwise have a wealth of successful projects to draw from including:
- Experience in both high voltage (HV) and cell control circuits
- Simple interconnects and length unlimited, multi layer APCBs with surface mounted components
- Circuits of every length, ranging from as large as a Jumbo Jet wing span and as small as micro-wire replacements for the most delicate of MIS (minimally invasive surgery)
- Flex sturdy and resilient enough to withstand the heat and vibration of the inside of a jet engine or sub-zero temperatures of liquid Xenon and beyond
The brief
Our relationship with Trackwise goes back to 2018 when we first designed and developed the previous corporate website. By 2022, Trackwise had evolved and grown as has its stakeholder needs and it was therefore time to work together again to create new and fresh site design, one which would better reflect the needs of the company.
Project objectives:
- Create a new site design and structure, consolidating and streamlining where possible to better showcase the company, capabilities and products within in their respective markets and customers
- Ensure that prospective customers are better served and targeted by simplifying the user experience and making it easier for them to find the information they are after and to prompt them to contact Trackwise
- Design the new website to be clean and modern, using the current brand and site design as a starting point but to evolve it further to present a much improved look and feel and experience. This was an exercise of evolution rather than revolution.
- Ensure that the new site remains easily updated and maintained, if not more so, and that it stays current and dynamic, with improved news flow, company activities and other media
- Deliver a user friendly, easily navigable and engaging experience for all target audiences – customers, investors, shareholders, partners, suppliers, employees and jobseekers
- Develop a highly flexible framework within WordPress to allow for future site evolution, additions and acquisitions
Our approach
Working closely with the client in the early stages of the project, we mapped out the desired user journeys for their customer audience in particular. This was then reflected in an updated sitemap and site architecture.
A content audit allowed us to identify where consolidation and streamlining could be applied as well as highlighting what new content had to be created.
Before starting on the design concepts we produced a series of wireframes and prototypes to help explore the best navigational experience along with optimised page layouts. This, in turn, was fed through to the designs and also helped in the creation of updated content for the site.
The outcome
The website launched in May 2022 and was immediately notable for its much cleaner and user friendly design compared to the previous site. With a greater use of white space and bold typography, the new site presented Trackwise as a more modern and cutting edge company, a reflection on its innovative technology and products.
Meeting the needs of prospective customers, the primary navigation leads with the Capabilities section and is cleverly tied to the banner area, showcasing each of the five core areas. These are also presented in a visually engaging and inviting menu dropdown, helping visitors to easily navigate to the content of interest.
